Diamond Head

Aloha!

Today we start with Diamond Head. This was the first hike we did on the island. Diamond Head is the most famous landmark in Waikiki, and therefore the most "touristy". The entrance is just outside Waikiki (about a 20 minute walk from Waikiki Beach). This makes it ideal for the majority of tourists who stay in this area. The views from the top of the crater are absolutey beautiful. Unfortunately we did not take many good pictures on this trip, but that gives us a good excuse to do this hike again. The hike is easy/moderate and takes about 1 1/2 hours. Easily accessible, this is a must do for anyone on a schedule.

Looking back at Koko Head.

Diamond Head Lighthouse.

The summit is where we will end up. This is a "zoom-in" from the trail head.
